I met Alysa Michelle when she started attending Yoga classses at Zen Soul Life in 2016.
Her dedication, focus and charismatic energy is infectious! When I found out she was a yoga teacher, I smiled! 'You're hired!'
M ~ Why did you decide to be a Yoga teacher?
A ~ It's not exactly a profound answer. My Mum was a yoga teacher and I always admired her individuality. When I was studying nutrition I needed some extra moolah, and yoga seemed like a fun way to do that. As always, my Mum threw me in the deep end and I taught my first class after only a month or so of training in 2013. Nutrition is now a thing of the past and yoga has become a huge part of who I am.
M ~ Before you started teaching with Zen Soul Life you created an amazing business called 'The Love Letter', now rebranded as 'The Love Letter Collective'. Tell us about TLLC?
A ~ TLLC creates love letters & gift boxes filled with inspirational goodies such as; organic skincare products, affirmation cards, mandala meditations and quote cards etc. The intention of the business was to create an effortless way for people to say you are amazing and I love you. It inspires the art and love of giving as well as receiving. The Love letter is about self-love, awareness and embracing what you already have whilst working towards your dreams.
M ~ Do you have any other projects coming up that you can share?
A ~ (big smile) Yes! I'm creating a stylish card set that inspires self love, acceptance and mindfulness with essential oils, yoga and affirmations. I also have a website where I post weekly blogs about yoga, mindfulness and essential oils.
M ~ What would you like to bring to the Zen Soul Life community?
A ~ I'd like to bring a relaxed and free-spirited vibe, stoking the fire within all of my students, reminding them that they are the architects of their own fabulous lives!
M ~ What is your favourite posture?
A ~ Wide-legged child's Pose, Balasana or Upward facing dog, Urdhva Mukha Savanasa. Although simple, these postures always bring a smile to my face. Balasana for its ability to reconnect myself to the breathe instantly, and Upward facing dog because it makes me feel free, powerful and wholehearted.
M ~ What's your favourite essential oils and why?
A ~ I've actually written a blog about that!
Here it is! Alyas's fave essential oils.
